While already providing established biopsy forceps and brushes, Olympus has released the new 21G biopsy needle PeriView FLEX compatible with the BF-MP190/290F and the GuideSheath. The needle is expected to help to increase the diagnostic yield in the periphery as well as to improve access to target sites thanks to enhanced needle flexibility.
The BF-MP190F/290F scope and the GuideSheath are both compatible with the OLYMPUS radial EBUS probe. Studies report that the combination of either the GuideSheath 2 or of BF-MP190F/290F 3 with the ultrasound probe achieves over 90% lesion identification.
